Pre-K Counts / Preschool B

Our center offers Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts from 8:15am-3:15pm during the academic year as well as Preschool programming for families utilizing another funding stream.

Room 101 typically has students who are 3-4 years old and who will not be age-eligible to attend Kindergarten the following school year. In the summer months, this classroom may have some students who will be headed off to Kindergarten in the fall.

In our program, students are guided to move themselves about and seek those activities that interest them most.

Our center provides any toileting supplies that may be necessary such as pull-ups and wipes. These are included at no extra charge. We also serve meals & snacks throughout the day through our participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

The classroom is organized with many different interest areas which allow the children to explore, play, and learn. Though our center opens at 6:30am, our preschool lessons really get going about 8:15am. Weather permitting, we’ll spend some time outside. We break for morning snack at 10:00am and lunch at 12:45pm. After lunch we brush our teeth. About 3:30pm we have afternoon lessons and then free play time until pick up. The center closes at 5:30pm.

We believe that all families, regardless of income, deserve high quality child care and education. Students in our Preschool Program may have their tuition funded privately (family pays the full tuition amount), subsidized (through the Child Care Works program), funded by the PA Pre-K Counts program, or a combination thereof.

The Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program:

·        is a high quality pre-kindergarten program for children three to four years old

·        is free of charge to qualifying families earning up to 300% of the federal income poverty level

·        operates at our center during the academic year from 8:15am-3:15pm

Families enrolled in the PA Pre-K Counts program may need care before 8:15am and/or after 3:15pm. We offer before/after care at our part time tuition rate. Families may apply for child care subsidy through the Early Learning Resource Center or privately pay for before/after care.

What to bring to school:

·        Families are requested to bring in at least one seasonally-appropriate complete changes of clothes (including socks!), labeled with their child’s name. Besides toileting accidents, sometimes we get messy in our play, necessitating a change.

·        We encourage you to bring in pictures of your family – you can include any members of your family and even pets.

 â€‹
Optional items:

·        Wet/dry bag(s) for soiled clothing
